Enabling Secured Content Distribution

Medialive is an active member of international standardization groups, like ISO/IEC JTC1/SC29/MPEG and JPEG.
The main area of interest is focused around the core technology of a digital content protection solution and a DRM system. Medialive patented an innovative technology, called Medialiving, which is much more than an alternative to the classical methods, represented by the encryption algorithms. This technology is already standardized by JPSEC.
Medialive is also a member of the Mobile Entertainment Forum (MEF).

Moving Picture Experts Group

The Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG) is a working group of ISO/IEC in charge of the development of international standards for compression, decompression, processing, and coded representation of moving pictures, audio and their combination. Medialive is currently involved in one MPEG standard (MPEG-21) and one MPEG initiative (MAF). MPEG-21 is a normative open framework for multimedia delivery and consumption for use by all the players in the delivery and consumption chain. The standard parts for which Medialive is contributing are: REL (Rights Expression Language) and RDD (Rights Data Dictionary). The Multimedia Application Format (MAF) specifies the framework for integration of elements from several MPEG standards into a single specification that is suitable for specific but widely usable applications. Medialive supports different MAFs: Photo Player, Protected Music Player and Portable Video Player.
Joint Photographic Experts Group 2000 The Joint Photographic Experts Group (JPEG) 2000 is a new image coding system that uses state-of-the-art compression techniques based on wavelet technology. The JPEG 2000 Secured (JPSEC) is the part of the standard specifying security of transaction, protection of contents, and protection of technologies. Medialiving was adopted by JPEG 2000 as a standardized technology for content protection.
MEF The MEF is a global trade association representing all participants in the mobile entertainment value chain interested in driving the industry's evolution and commercial potential through collaboration, consultation and promotional activities. MEF is committed to reducing the barriers to entry into the innovative mobile entertainment market, thereby encouraging entry by new businesses and increasing competition and growth to the benefit of all industry players and consumers.

The Medialiving® concept is a true innovative approach, only using about 1% of an original source, extracted and substituted by lures.
